Anna Elizabeth Taplin, 81, Clarkston

      Anna Elizabeth Taplin, a Clarkston homemaker, died Sunday at St. Joseph’s Hospital of a heart attack. She was 81.
      She was born May 26, 1901, to Lorenzo D. and Sarah Elizabeth Snyder at Orofino. She lived there until 1933.
      She married Jerry H. Cooper at Asotin on Dec. 30, 1917. They were later divorced. She married Oscar Taplin at Pomeroy on April 3, 1933. He preceded her in death on April 7, 1975.
      The Taplins lived on Asotin Creek from 1933 until 1953, when they moved to Clarkston.
      Mrs. Taplin was a member and past noble grand of the Clarkston Rebekah Lodge and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Veterans of World War I.
      She is survived by three daughters, Loda Wells of Lewiston, Rose Appleford of Clarkston, and Geraldine Accuardi of Portland; two sisters, Lottie Ball of Lewiston and Veta South of Clarkston; eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
      Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Merchant Funeral Home, the Rev. Frank Needles of the First Christian Church officiating. Burial will follow at Vineland Cemetery.
      Memorials may be made to the Clarkston Rebekah’s Lodge.
      Merchant Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
